Images from sampling project

Sketch using fineliner pen, children from aushwitz arranged in a continuation in the same way as the spectacles.

Compostion of the spectacles arranged in a continuious growth, when I saw the piles of spectacles at Auschwitz it remined me that the presence of the people that once wore these still remained despite their absence.

I deconstructed some old pairs of glasses that I found, and then recontructed them attaching the broken parts of the lenses with a very think wire.

From the original image that I based this idea of the deconstructionof the glasses, there was a very small fleck of amber and this really stood out for me when looking at the image. I decided to make the colour more dominent in this image by adjusting the colour alterations on photoshop, I used a similar process for the above image.

This is a tranfer print piece, i used the darwing in on of the above images for this piece. I made a continuation of the print refelecting the mass of the spectacles from the pictures from Auschwitz. I then layered the deconstructed broken lenses over the top to create  ore 3D effect to the image.

This was oneof my final pieces of the project. Using machine embroidery, and the small pintuck foot. My intention was to carry on the idea of a continuious line, an the stitch reflected quite a sketetal, delicate look, this reminded me of the wires of the galsses and how they looked almost spidery,.
